Flashback...

I was just looking through some pictures and came across a picture of my elbow a little after I dislocated it last year. Still to this day it is a little weak and messed up. I guess I'll have to get it fixed when I get a decent job and benefits. If I remember correctly this picture isn't the worse my elbow looked. Check it out yo! Italy Trip! (Venice)

I know you all have been waiting for the big blog post about our Italy trip and frankly, I don't care how long you guys wait. I do it on my time and my terms. There is a lot to cover so I might have to do a couple posts. Actually I might do a post for each City we were in so that they are a little separated and more organized. So the first one will be about the first city we saw when we came into Italy which was Venice! As soon as we flew in I had my friend Davide come pick us up from the Venice airport. We were super tired from our flight of crying babies but eager to set off on our adventure. We drove to a City called Mestre that you have to pass through before going to Venice and we went to our first restaurant. Kim and I tried the Carbonara and I think she wasn't expecting the noodles to be so thick as it was hard for her to eat. So the restaurant is just at the bottom of this apartment complex. That is basically the format for a lot of stores and restaurants in Italy. Anyways after lunch we then took off on train accross the bridge over to Venice and this is the bridge you first see when you step out of the train station. Kim was facinated how the building were so close to the water and all the different passageways and the fact that the whole city is on water, held by just pillars underneath. After navigating through the city a big you eventually come to one of the famous bridges called Ponte Realto. There are a bunch of shops along the bridge. [caption id="attachment_38" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Kim, Ben and Davide"]Kim, Ben and Davide[/caption] I won't go through all the details in the blog post for each city but give the highlights and later I'll post all the pictures to the pictures section where you can browse in more detail. One of the other major stops in Venice was in the famous square where St. Mark's basilica resides. [caption id="attachment_39" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="St. Mark"]St. Mark's Basilica[/caption] As you're facing the church in this picture there is a huge square behind. When I went there during my mission they used to have a bunch of little booths set up selling seeds for the pigeons and the pidgeons would fly up on you. I think they band selling seeds from the boot but there are some guys that walk around and try to put them in your hands but I think it's illegal. [caption id="attachment_40" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Kim in St. Mark"]Kim in St. Mark's Square[/caption] A blast from the past. I thought it would be cool to post a picture of me in the same place on my mission and to show everyone how the pigeons fly and sit on you. Updates

Due to popular demand from fans of this blog, it has been brought to my attention and requested that I update the blog. As you can see the blog now has a new design and www.theburtfam.com link now works. My domain name was about to expire and so i moved it to a new host so that i didn't have to pay the renewel fee. Anywho, several notes about the updated site: 1. The top middle photo frame actually cycles through several pictures upon page refresh. So everytime you visit the blog, there might be a new photo there. 2. On the top there is a tab for pictures where you can go and check out all the photos we have currently uploaded. So posts will normally have one photo and the rest you can view here on this page. 3. I am currently training Kim on how to post so that she will start posting to the site and I won't have to deal with it. 4. The pictures page currently only has a photo album for our wedding. I'm am working on this so settle down. Soon there will be more albums like our Italy trip and what not so Amy Wang can quit crying. Happy

Update!

Hey we've got a lot of updating to do so I'm just gonna do some highlighting of some of the events that have happened since our last entertaining posts. So in May the weekend of Kim's birthday, Kim and I along with Ryan and Christi went over to Seattle and met up with Sam and Amy to go to Mariners game. I had never been to Safeco field so it was pretty neat to see how large it was. I was not very fond of the fowl puke smell that lingered throughout the evening but all in all it was a great experience.
Then we we went to CDA for Whitney's graduation and had a grand old time.
One night we went to dinner at Rocky Rococo's and I picked a flower for Kimberly. She hates it when I don't smile.
Owen then turned two years old and the party was off the hook. I think he filled that backpack we got him with liquor.

Hoopfest and stolen weather icon

So I just finished another year of hoopfest and I probably had one of the worst games in my life in our final game. Oh well. We'll post pictures after we upload them to the comp and update our site a little. There you happy Andrea?! We posted on our blog and for making fun of us I stole your weather icon. Word.

Leavenworth

So we recently got back from Leavenworth which we were there for Stephanie and Brett's open house. We have never been to Leavenworth before so it was pretty neat to see the Bavarian village. The drive sucked but we had fun hanging out in the middle of nowhere. Brett and I did a little night quad ridin up in the mountains which was fun. Teri lost her phone.

Grandmas and Nannys

This weekend was pretty busy for the both of us. Kim had to nanny this whole weekend for her dentist for whom she works for, Dr. Barlow of Little Smiles, Post Falls, ID. I had juggle between conference and the Final Four which is a strenuous task, all while helping Kim with the little ones. On Sunday it was my Grandma Quick's 83rd birthday so we had dinner at her place until she got too tired and had to go to bed at about 7. Top photo is of two of the Barlow kids Emma and Maddy (spelling?). The other two are Trevor and Camille. Sorry I don't have a photo of them. The bottom photo my grandma is at the end.

Spring Break in McKinney, Texas

So for spring break we decided that we would go visit my sister Amy in McKinney Texas. I kept telling Amy that I would come down and visit her sometime but have never found the time to do so. Andrew got there a few days earlier but came back with us on the same day. Some of the things we did down there were 1. We went to a "movie grill" where evidently you just order food and watch a movie at the same time. The night we were there was all you can eat pizza night so i had about 3 pizzas myself. The movie we watched was Drillbit Taylor which we found to be quite hilarious. 2. One day we went and brought McDonalds to Tyra and her school and ate lunch with her. She is somewhat of a minority there, it's population being about 95% mexican! Also Tyra found a big bug wing in her fries so we took it back and got free food. 3. We rode around on these kid size quads until Tyra decided to roll hers and just about crushing her we decided that was enough. 4. Another night we had a BBQ while watching some of the March madness. 5. Amy took us to historic downtown where Kimberly and Amy had a blast browsing through all the antique shops.

Don't let Kim play with your kids!

Occasionally we go visit Marcus, Mary and Owen just to see how they're doing. Sometimes Owen is fiesty and hyper so we have to go to extreme measures to sedate him. I think this time Kim got a little excited and took things too far by stabbing Owen with a sword. I'm sorry Owen.
